Hi Coyote Families, I apologize for the delay in sending this update. I was up at 5 AM checking the weather and hoped we’d have a clearer picture by 7 AM. Unfortunately, the paved roads are covered with snow and are slick in places, combined with the extreme cold that could cause serious issues if anyone experiences car trouble.
Making this decision is always challenging, with so many factors to consider, but in the end, I’d rather be safe than sorry. Because of the road and the temperature, school is canceled today, February 18, 2025, due to the hazardous road conditions and extreme cold. I apologize for the late notice, and thank you for your understanding.
No NHS coffee bar tomorrow because of the delay. We'll be back next week!
Hi Weskan Families! Due to the severe temperature & wind chill expected overnight for Tuesday, February 18th, the school will begin on a 2-hour delay starting at 9:50 AM. There will be no morning pre-school session and no breakfast. We will provide any further updates in the morning if necessary. Stay warm and safe!
Hi Coyote Families! Due to drifting snow, extreme wind chills, and road conditions in some areas, school will be on a 2-HOUR DELAY and start at 9:50 AM to allow safe travel to school. No morning pre-school. No breakfast will be served. Be safe and allow extra travel time.
Hello Weskan Families!
With the winter weather we've already received and more expected overnight, I’ve decided to CANCEL SCHOOL for tomorrow (Wednesday, February 12th, 2025). I want to ensure everyone has plenty of time to adjust plans and stay safe. This wasn’t an easy decision, but with the potential for bad roads and the majority of the weather hitting overnight, I’d rather everyone be safe. Stay safe and warm, and enjoy the day!
Reminder: Please have NHS Valentine's Day balloon and candy order forms returned by 2/10/25. Contact Julie Aldridge with questions.
Grades 9-12 will attend a job fair at Wallace County Schools TOMORROW, Feb 4, leaving at 8:30 AM and returning by 10:30 AM. Permission slips will go home with students, or parents can email lsexson@weskanschools.org or text me to give permission. The permission slip is attached for your convenience: bit.ly/4hkGrxN

Hey Coyote Families! I just wanted to give you a quick heads-up! I know many of us just got the emergency alert advising us to stay off the roads unless it is an emergency. While our main roads look pretty good, the side roads could be a little icy. I drove to Goodland and back earlier today with no issues, so we're all good for tomorrow! We will have school on Monday, January 6th, 2025! Please take your time and be extra careful on the roads, and we'll see you there! Go Coyotes!!
