Hi Weskan Families!
We hope you’re having a great summer and finding time for fun and relaxation! It’s that time of year when our office staff starts looking ahead and planning for enrollment, and we’ve been working hard to make it as easy and convenient as possible for everyone.
We know many families are busy with 4-H and fair season, so we’ve done our best to schedule Open Enrollment between the Cheyenne Wells, Co. Fair and the Wallace County Fair to avoid conflicts.
Weskan Schools Open Enrollment is set for:
Wednesday, July 23rd
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
In the cafeteria
We’d love to see you there! It’s a great time to take care of enrollment and any fees for the upcoming 25-26 school year, and it helps us all prepare for another great year at Weskan Schools!
Thank you so much for your flexibility and support. We’re excited to welcome everyone back soon!
USD 242 is hiring. We would love for you to join our team!

This is a reminder that the Library will be open every Wednesday in June from 8:00-12:00.
As many of you know, a tornado struck the town of Grinnell today. We've contacted their school to offer support and will organize assistance once we know their needs. Stay tuned for ways to help our neighbors during this difficult time.
Good morning JH/HS parents,
Yesterday, I met with each grade from 5th through 11th to distribute pre-enrollment schedules. Students were asked to fill out their elective class choices in order of preference. Some grades do not have elective options available.
Students began filling out their forms yesterday and were instructed to take them home for your review. Please sign the form to indicate that you have seen it and approve of their class selections.
I reminded students that parents might encourage different choices because they're thinking about both their current interests and their future goals.
Overall, the process went smoothly. We were able to address a couple of early glitches, and I appreciate everyone’s flexibility. This is the first time we’ve used this method, so there’s a learning curve—but I’m hopeful it will be a successful approach moving forward.
Completed and signed forms are due on Monday.
Thank you for your support!

Hi Weskan Families!
We’re excited to host our Bike Rodeo this Thursday with help from the Fire Department, EMS, WaCo Parks & Rec, and the Sheriff’s Office.
Please have students ride or bring their bikes to school that day.
If it rains or the grounds are too wet, the event will move indoors, with a bike safety presentation at 9:00 a.m. in the gym.
