E-mail Attachment

These are basic instructions that will show you how to send an e-mail attachment.

Steps

1. Click on the New Mail, Write Message, to create a new e-mail message.

2. Click the Attachment button. Other programs may have and icon of a paperclip for it. Also look for an Insert File or Insert Attachment option in the File menu.

3. Browse your files for the file you want to attach.

4. Click on the filename. If your program allows you to attach more than one file, hold down the Control key as you select another. Some programs such as hotmail attach one file at a time and then you click on "attach another file".

5. Click Insert (or Open or Attach), depending on your e-mail program.

6. When you are done, the file name or names will display under the address and subject area. Click the send button.

Tips & Warnings

  • Change picture attachments to the JPEG Format. It will take up less space and send faster.
  • If you are sending files to a person who uses a modem, try not to send large files, because that can take a long time to download.
