Weskan Coyotes Dive into Sports

Weskan Schools is back in session as of August 15th! The High Schoolers started practice on August 12th with conditioning and have been hard at work ever since.
The High School Football team has eleven team members with five Seniors, one Junior, three Sophomores, and two Freshmen. The 6-Man League is welcoming four new teams, and losing one; this will bring the League to eleven total teams!
The Coyotes will be welcoming back Head Coach, Brett Clow, and Assistant coaches, Ty See and Josh Schattel. Coach Clow said, “We’re excited to compete and we’ll just see what happens. I love our team dynamics; the guys really enjoy playing together. I enjoy seeing our guys step into new roles.” The football team will kick off the season on home turf, August 31st at 2:00 pm, against Rolla.
The High School Volleyball team has nine players with three Seniors, four Sophomores, and two Freshmen. The team will be led by Head Coach, Sheila Allen, and Assistant Coach, Kassandra Summers. The girls are looking forward to a strong season, and the new paint job on the floors, to spruce up the gym! Brylee Aldridge, senior, said, “I can’t wait for this season! We have a lot of potential on our team, so if we stick together and work hard we will have a great season.” The Lady Coyotes will start their season on the home court at 4:00 pm on August 28th.
The Junior High Football team will have 8 boys this season with two Eighth Graders, five Seventh Graders, and one Sixth Grader. Coach Adam Smith will be coming back, assisted by Coach Brett Clow. Eighth Grader, Caleb Rother, said, “I am excited to hang out with the guys and meet new people. I love getting to play the sport the way it’s meant to be played and having fun!” The team will be playing 6-Man and will start their season against Bethune on September 6th at 3:00 p.m. at home, after a Junior High Volleyball game.
Junior High Volleyball has 8 girls out with four sixth graders, two Seventh Graders, and two Eighth Graders and will be coached by Sheila Allen and Brynne Wright. Eighth Grader Desirae McQuillan said, “I look forward to getting back into the game and competing. I love my team and coaches. My favorite part of volleyball is getting to set the ball.” Their first game will precede the first Junior High Football game at home on September 6th.
